JEWISH APPLE CAKE

5 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cinnamon
(set aside)

Mix together:
4, 5 or 6 applies, peeled and sliced (or canned)
3 cups flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups sugar
1 cup corn oil
4 eggs (beaten)
1 teaspoon vanilla
1/4 cup orange juice

Grease and flour tube pan.
Pour 1/3 of batter into pan, then 1 layer of applies.
Sprinkle with cinnamon & sugar mixture.
Repeat 3 times ending with layer of apples & cinnamon sugar.
Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 1 hour to 1 hour and 15 minutes.

May substitute peaches or blueberries for apples.
